Firm Profile
Orefice & Caliri CPA’s was established in October, 1989 by Mike Orefice and Bob Caliri. Mike and Bob have been in the accounting and bookkeeping profession since 1981. Orefice & Caliri CPA’s have been providing quality income tax preparation, auditing and business advisory services to clients in a broad range of industries such as; construction, real estate development, manufacturing, professional services, recreation, retail, medical and not-for profit. We involve ourselves in our clients’ businesses by learning about each client’s specific industry and goals. This allows us to provide sound and creative business and financial advice that aids our clients’ business development and assists them in the attainment of their organizational goals.
We are committed to providing prompt, efficient and personal service to each one of our clients and insist on delivering the highest quality product. To achieve these goals, we work individually with our clients providing such services as; supplementing their internal financial analysis capabilities with our own financial expertise and methods, assisting management in adapting to the ever changing business environment through technical and practical knowledge, and providing a multitude of resources to assist our clients in areas that may impact their financial and organizational goals.
Our commitment to quality is illustrated by our membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Peer Review Program. As a member, every three years, we undergo an independent quality review of our accounting practice, as well as a review of our internal system of quality control. Orefice & Caliri CPA’s is proud to have received an unqualified report (the “highest grade” possible) each and every time. We utilize state-of-art technology, including the most current software releases and networked computer hardware, which allows our staff to work efficiently and effectively with each other and our clients.
Orefice & Caliri CPA’s recognizes that every client has unique characteristics, personalities and operating structures. By approaching each engagement with that understanding, we are able to establish close relationships with each client, its personnel and other trusted professionals. Our goal is to provide our clients with the excellence they deserve. We understand that our client needs are of great importance and we pride ourselves on our prompt response time. Our People
Michael A. Orefice Jr., CPA, MST - Partner
Mike graduated from Bryant University in 1981 earning a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1985 and attained his Master of Science in Taxation in 1991.
Upon graduation, Mike was hired by the accounting firm Casten & Company Certified Public Accountants. During his tenure at Casten & Company, Mike's responsibilities included personal, corporate & partnership income tax return preparation, corporate financial statement preparation, audits of for-profit & not-for-profit entities and staff supervision.
Mike later joined the accounting & audit firm of Rosenfield, Holland and Raymon PC as a tax and audit manager. Mike's responsibilities included tax return and financial statement review, audit supervision and income tax planning.
In 1987, Mike was hired by Cruising World Publications, Inc, a subsidiary of the New York Times Company, as their Financial Controller. Mike managed the accounting department of two monthly magazine publications. Mike 's duties also included monthly forecasting and budgeting, real estate and Publication acquisitions, accounting software installation and training as well as various administrative and management
related functions.
In October, 1989 Mike became the Co-Founder and partner of Orefice & Caliri, CPA's. As Partner, Mike is responsible for managing this diversified auditing, income tax, accounting,and management advisory service firm.
Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the RI Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to his professional associations, Mike currently serves as the Treasurer of Wickford Woods Condo Assoc. Mike's past community services include; Treasurer of The Barrington Booster Club, President, Treasurer, and Coach of Barrington Little League, Treasurer and Coach of Barrington Pop Warner Football, President of the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, Finance Chair of St Mary of The Bay Church, Auditor of St. Luke's Parish and Coach of East Bay Soccer.
Mike is married to his "High School Sweetheart", Karen, and has two children, Zachary and Arielle and three grandchildren.
Robert A. Caliri, CPA, MST - Partner
Bob Caliri is a co-founder and partner of Orefice & Caliri. Bob brings a vast range of expertise to O&C, spanning industries such as manufacturing, professional organizations, medical, real estate management, residential developers, retail, service industries and construction.
Bob is also actively involved in tax planning and compliance for the firm's clients.
PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

- Experience in developing and implementing accounting systems for companies.
Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Bob holds both a BS Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Taxation from Bryant University.
Jay Flaxington, MSA - Accounting Manager
Jay Flaxington is an accounting manager here at Orefice and Caliri and has been with us since September 2006. Jay graduated Cum Laude from The University of Rhode Island, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Accounting as well as his Masters of Science in Accounting.
Jay currently lives in Seekonk, MA with his wife, two children and two dogs.
Jeannine A. Desilets, CPA, MST - Intuit Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor/Manager
Jeannine joined Orefice & Caliri in August 2015 as Manager. Jeannine earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Southeastern Massachusetts University (currently known as University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth) and a Master of Science Degree in Taxation from Bentley College. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Massachusetts and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition, Jeannine serves as Treasurer and Director of Notre Dame Community Federal Credit Union in Fall River, MA . She is also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Jeannine brings more than twenty-five years of accounting, auditing and tax service experience to our clients. Her range of experience spans public accounting, private industry and non-profit organizations with significant concentrations in the Construction & R.E. Development, Information Technology, Professional Service Organizations and Health Care industries.
Jeannine is an avid reader and movie buff. She also enjoys gardening, DIY projects and vacationing in tropical locations.
Jeannine resides in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Susan Gorman, MBA, CPA, SHRM-SCP, Intuit Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor/Tax Manager
Susan joined Orefice and Caliri in July 2017 as Tax Manager. Susan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Rhode Island College and an MBA in Global Business Leadership - Accounting from Johnson & Wales University. Susan also received Certificates in Human Resource Management and Women's Business Leadership from Bryant University.
Susan is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Rhode Island and the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Accountants. She is also a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resource with the Society of Human Resource Management. In addition, she recently served as the Treasurer of the St. Patrick's Day Parade of Washington, D.C. and continues to be an active member of the Finance Committee serving as their Pro-bono Finance and Tax Advisor.
Susan is a native Rhode Islander, who moved back to Rhode Island from Washington, D.C. to join our firm. She brings more than 20 years of accounting and tax experience to our clients. Her range of knowledge spans public accounting, private industry and non-profit organizations with significant concentrations in high-net worth individuals, real estate, professional service and healthcare industries, consulting and information technology.
Susan resides in Barrington, RI.
Jennifer LAFRAMBOISE - Accountant
Jen joined Orefice & Caliri in 2017 as a staff accountant. She is a graduate of Metropolitan Community College of Kansas City and has over 10 years experience in public accounting and tax preparation. On her days off, Jen keeps busy volunteering with the Swahili speaking community in Rhode Island.
Jen currently resides in Riverside, Rhode Island.
Maria Faria - Accountant
Maria joined the firm as staff accountant in January 2017, when Orefice & Caliri acquired the Ronald J. Rodrigues CPA firm. Maria had been on staff with Ronal J. Rodrigues CPA for over 18 years with experience in individual tax preparation and bookkeeping. Maria received a Certificate of Completion as a Junior Accountant from Johnson & Wales College. Maria is a Rhode Island Notary Public.
Maria resides in Rumford, RI with her husband.
LORI vALERIO - Bookkeeper
Lori joined Orefice & Caliri in November 2019 as the firm's Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist. She has over 25 years of accounting and supervisory experience. Lori has held various accounting roles in the banking industry where she supported investment and precious metals trading activities, as well as in the restaurant and manufacturing industries.
Lori enjoys cultural events and travel. Lori resides in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Ann Marie Barone - Bookkeeper
Ann Marie joined Orefice & Caliri in January 2017, as a result of the Ronald J. Rodrigues, CPA firm acquisition. She has over 25 years of bookkeeping experience, with expertise in the hospitality and construction industries. Ann Marie is a Notary Public in the State of Rhode Island.
In her spare time, Ann Marie spends time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Ann Marie resides in North Providence, Rhode Island.
Debbi Caliri - Office Manager
Debbi Caliri joined Orefice and Caliri in 1989 and became the company's Office Manager. Prior to joining O & C, Debbi worked for Fleet National Bank (currently known as Bank of America) as an Administrative Assistant in their Classified Loan Department.
Debbi was very active in the local Parent Teacher Organizations for her daughters while they attended school and now finds herself back in the school as a parent volunteer in the classroom for her son.
She can be found at the ice rink watching her son skate on his hockey team or shopping and visiting with her college-age daughters in her spare time.
Debbi lives in Barrington with her husband, Bob and their three children Kara, Kaylyn, and Connor.
JULIE BLAYDES - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Julie joined Orefice & Caliri in 2021 as an Adminstrative Assistant.
Prior to joining our team, Julie worked as an Office Manager for H & W Test Products for over 20 years, which is indicative of her loyalty and preserverance.
Ju;ie spent 10 years as a cat rescuer and Treasurer for a local chapter of the Volunteer Services for Animals. She herself has a dog and 2 cats. In addition to her love of animals, Julie spends her time making home improvements, exercising and has recently begun gardeing. She hopes to transform her yard into an eco-friendly, pollinator garden of native perennials. It's her contribution to saving the world.
A native of Rhode Island, Julie resides in Riverside with her 4-legged children.
